RESPITE CARE
Out of Home: This consists of temporary care provided outside the home in a licensed or
accredited Residential Care Facility (RCF) to provide temporary relief to the customary caregiver. As much as is practically possible, the individual's regular programs are maintained while in
respite care.
In Home: Provided to individuals unable to care for themselves on a short-term basis for relief of those persons normally providing the care, other than formal paid
caregivers. To be eligible for in-home respite care the persons who normally provide care to the individual must be other than formal paid caregivers.
